The Photo Rally
During the photo rally at “Art and the Automobile,” photographers will be able to capture the unveiling of a new Callaway supercar in a dramatic rural setting and photograph other exceptional cars on display or in motion. They will also be able to take advantage of the Townships landscape when the fall foliage is rippling with colour.
Photographers Louise Abbott and Niels Jensen will lead participants on two day trips in the region, focussing on both built heritage and natural heritage. There will be a guided visit to a beautiful bog in Ogden maintained by the Nature Conservancy of Canada and to a nearby farm rich in family history. There will also be a tour of the picturesque village of Georgeville, a boat ride across Lake Memphremagog to Knowlton’s Landing, stops at various local sites, an ascent of Owl’s Head mountain in a chairlift, and a return trip across the lake to see a local granite quarry. In their off-hours, photographers will be free to wander along groomed paths in the forest on the Davis-Kell Farm and watch the sun set over Owl’s Head. The photo rally will include time for photographers to share their work and get tips from legendary motorsports-turned-nature photographer Jesse Alexander. Participants will also be able to view a photography exhibition titled “Pushing the Envelope” by Alexander, as well as an exhibition titled “Horsepower” by Abbott and Jensen.
